I recently found a piece of software that was pretty awesome at first use, if you’re not a video creator and want to have a quick way to create video from written content.. keep reading. I came across Lumen5 in my search for shortcuts as a digital marketer, just looking for a way to create video content relatively easy. Millions of video views happen every single day on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc. I’m sure you just thought about that and yes your right it’s more likely in the billions of views every day. This number of people grows every second and it’s just simply easier to consume video content when you don’t want to read an article.

Take a look at the following video of this same post with 5 minutes of edits, I’m using the free version of it as a trial and the resolution is limited to 480p.

Whats Lumen5 All About?

The best reason to use software like this is time savings, it’s able to create video content out of your blog posts or existing articles pretty quickly. Now it’s not a one and done solution I’m sure you’re gonna have to put a bit of effort in order to polish the final result. Regardless it is still a clever way to create video content that shareable across social media so that you can spread your brand and content everywhere using video.

It’s as simple as copy and paste, either a link to your post or just paste the actual content and it turns it into a video really fast. In about 5 minutes you have a video template created and a complete video I would say in a matter of 20 minutes.

Features and Usability

Fist your select your template or style and then it’s as close to a drag and drop builder for videos as you can get. You can easily remove clips, add content and change backgrounds within the clip itself. The layout format is not hard to follow, on the right side of the screen you’ll see the video flow with the intro at the top and as you scroll down you’ll see the video as it moves through time. On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll see the content that you submitted whether it was a link or an actual written article.

It’s really simple to add music, but I did notice they don’t have a voice over feature but an interesting thing you can do is have an audio recorder that will record your voice as you watch your video then upload the track and use it as a music background.

I would love to know what you guys think of it or if there are better options for this, comment below.
