Traffic Medium

Traffic Medium (also known as “Medium”) represent a high-level category for which the acquisition source is measured. Common traffic mediums include:

  • Organic: Organic search
  • CPC: Cost per click ads (pay per click ads) which typically come from search engines (but can come from other ad units)
  • Display: Banner ads
  • Referral: Traffic which is referred by other websites (non-search engines)
  • Email: Email marketing efforts
